Cornwall Music Service Trust

About Cornwall Music Service Trust

Cornwall Music Service Trust was launched in January 2015, set up by the teachers when the council closed Music Cornwall. The 80 teachers who moved to the new Trust continued to provide Cornish schools and communities with instrumental and vocal tuition, ensembles and choirs, training, and classroom music curriculum. CMST continued to grow, now employing 120 music teachers working with 10,000 children and young people each week in 80% of Cornish schools.
CMST has also expanded into new areas of work, now having a team of 11 music therapists, and programmes of work for early years music, and music inclusion. We work closely in partnership with Cornwall Music Education Hub and other organisations to bring the benefits of music to as many as we can.
